Accreditation

Accreditation standards

These are the standards we apply to every application. They are deliberately plain: a provider should be able to see exactly what has been checked before a consultant appears on the register.

Standard 1 — Identity and right to work

Photo identification and confirmation of the right to work in the UK.

Standard 2 — History and references

A five-year employment history with any gaps explained, plus two professional references covering recent care sector work.

Standard 3 — Suitability

Evidence of a current DBS check appropriate to the work carried out.

Standard 4 — Insurance

Professional indemnity and public liability insurance held for the duration of membership.

Standard 5 — Competence

  • Demonstrable experience in the sectors and specialisms claimed on the profile
  • Relevant qualifications or registration where the work requires it
  • Honest declaration of the limits of their expertise

Standard 6 — Conduct

Agreement to our Code of Conduct, including honesty about likely outcomes, confidentiality, safeguarding duties and clear written terms.

Maintaining accreditation

  • Keep an active membership subscription
  • Tell us immediately if insurance, DBS or conduct circumstances change
  • Re-evidence checks on request
  • Cooperate with any complaint investigation
