For care providers
Why use an accredited consultant
Anyone can call themselves a care consultant. Accreditation means someone has checked. Before a consultant appears on the register, we review their identity, history and cover.
What we check
- Photo identification and right to work
- Five-year employment history with gaps explained
- Two professional references
- Evidence of a DBS check
- Professional and public liability insurance
- Relevant sector experience and qualifications
What accreditation is not
Accreditation is not a guarantee of an inspection outcome, and ACC is independent of the Care Quality Commission. It means the consultant has evidenced who they are, what they have done and that they carry insurance.
If something goes wrong
Accredited consultants agree to our Code of Conduct. If standards slip, you can raise a complaint with us and we will investigate, which can lead to removal from the register.
